Synopsis

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. One in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.

Autism is a spectrum condition and affects people in different ways. Autistic people have varying and complex needs from 24-hour care to simply needing clearer communication and a little longer to do things. Those people have their own strengths and weaknesses.

This film has been produced to raise awareness amongst young audience that for autistic people it is hard to understand what others are thinking or feeling, they get anxious about social situations, finding it hard to make friends or preferring to be on their own. Often, they seem blunt, rude or not interested in others without meaning to and find it hard to say how they feel.

“I just seem to see and think about people and the
world in a different way. It’s part of who I am.”

John Clark, autistic filmmaker
